The social activities are designed to foster intercultural communication and exchange among participants. Please note that all activities are subject to change or adjustment due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather conditions) and require a minimum number of participants to take place. Accompanying persons are welcome to join, by covering only the cost of the selected event. These activities are not included in the registration fee, and pricing may be adjusted accordingly. Events will be confirmed and held only if the minimum required number of participants is reached.

1st day1st Conference Day (Tuesday)

A Taste of the Ancient Greek Symposium
(19:30-21:00, approximate time)
This event offers a modern take on the traditional symposium—an ancient Greek gathering centered around sharing food, ideas, and conversation. Participants will experience the Greek way of meeting and exchanging in a relaxed and authentic setting. The meal includes a selection of starters, a main course, dessert, and one glass of wine or a soft drink per person. The event will be held at a typical Greek restaurant, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

2nd day2nd Conference Day (Wednesday)

Social Dinner
(19:30-21:00, approximate time)
This dinner provides a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect, and exchange ideas following the conclusion of the academic program. The evening includes a three-course set menu featuring starters, traditional Greek cuisine, and dessert. A vegetarian option is available upon request—please inform us in advance if you require this option. Kindly note that the dinner is not à la carte and includes selected drinks. For any additional inquiries or special requests, please consult the Institute’s administrative staff, who will be available throughout the conference and during the event.

3rd day

3rd Conference Day (Thursday)  

Educational Tour “Ioannina & the Island of Lake Pamvotis” (Approx. 6–7 hours)

Discover the unique charm of Ioannina, a city where history, nature and local tradition meet.  Join us for a guided educational tour through the historic heart of Ioannina. Highlights of the city tour include iconic landmarks such as the impressive Castle of Ioannina, walk through the atmospheric old town and enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Pamvotis. A short boat ride will take you to the picturesque island, where peaceful paths, traditional houses and local heritage create a truly special atmosphere. An unforgettable excursion offering a wonderful taste of the history, culture and natural beauty of Epirus.

Lunch is included.

Educational Tour “Metsovo & Anilio – A Mountain Escape in Epirus”  (all day excursion)

Discover the authentic beauty of Epirus on a journey to Metsovo and Anilio, two charming mountain destinations surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and rich local traditions. Nestled among the Pindos mountains, Metsovo welcomes visitors with its traditional stone houses, picturesque streets, and distinctive local character.

Just a short drive away, Anilio offers a quieter and equally enchanting mountain experience. Surrounded by forests and impressive peaks, the area is perfect for enjoying nature, fresh mountain air and spectacular views.
