Dr Nadeem Akhtar (Ph.D., Wuhan University, People’s Republic of China) is an Assistant Professor at department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Kohat University of Science and Technology, Pakistan since July, 2012. He did one year intermediate Chinese language at the School of Foreign Languages, Wuhan University, where he was awarded a one-year Confucius Scholarship as a general scholar in Chinese language from September, 2011 to July, 2012. The Ministry of Education in Pakistan and the Chinese Scholarship Council funded his doctoral studies from September, 2007 to July, 2011. Akhtar holds two master degrees, one in English Language and Literature and another in Political Science.
Being the head of the department, Akhtar is actively involved in the academic activities of the university. So far, Akhtar has developed a new curriculum and taught different subjects at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Akhtar has published two research articles and five book chapters. He also presented eleven papers in different international academic conferences. Akhtar’s research interests include cross-cultural adaptation, intercultural communication, international and political communication, development communication, communication theories, and research skills.
