Dr. Mohammad Aslam Ansari is currently a Professor in the Department of Agriculture Communication, College of Agriculture at the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar-263145, Uttarakhand (India). He received his Doctoral degree in Extension Education from IVRI, Izatnagar, Bareilly (U.P., India) and later earned his postdoctoral from Centre for Mass Communication Research, University of Leicester (U.K.). He holds a Graduate degree in Agriculture & Animal Husbandry, and a Post-graduate degree in Agriculture Communication & Extension from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (India). He was the recipient of Commonwealth Fellowship, Senior and Junior Research Fellowships from ICAR/ UNDP; a number of research and training Grants, Bioved Fellow awards (2007), etc.
Dr. Ansari has 25 Years of working experience in the field of teaching, research and extension; and has taught at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels He has earlier worked as a faculty member at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (India); Allahabad Agriculture Institute Deemed University, Allahabad (India), Lucknow University, Lucknow, and now currently Professor at Pantnagar. His area of expertise includes: Journalism and Mass Communication, Development Communication, Science Communication, Health Communication, ICT applications in Agriculture and Rural Development, Agriculture Extension and Communication, Private Extension Systems, etc. He is the author of two book, five book chapters, and more than 50 research papers/articles in refereed and reputed journals besides 20 popular articles in farm magazines; guided 20 Masters and 5 Ph. D. students. He is chief editor of one Indian journal and Referee/ Reviewer of three Indian and Four International journals.
