Dr Lyn Haber
Human Factors Consultants
Swall Meadows, California
Lyn Haber consults with lawyers and testifies as an expert witness on issues of language comprehension, how an eyewitness is questioned affects the accuracy of report, and the absence of science in forensic fingerprint comparisons. She co-authored the book, Challenges to Fingerprints. Recent publications describe inadequacies in the design of research on forensic pattern comparisons.
She received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.A. from Brandeis University. She wrote a German textbook for the Foreign Service Institute; and taught English as a Second Language in Vienna, and French in Greece. She taught at Temple University, the University of Rochester, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, while consulting in schools and hospitals to improve services for language impaired children and adults. She and her partner-husband developed a training program and certification test for freight locomotive engineers; and then a training program for the U.S. Air Force to teach jet fighter pilots to fly low and fast.
