Dr Konstantinos Chalvatzis

Dr Konstantinos Chalvatzis has been with Norwich Business School since 2010 following his PhD studies at the School of Environmental Sciences, at UEA. He has a strong interdisciplinary background comprising energy engineering, environmental sciences, negotiations, environmental policy and management. He is interested in breaking disciplinary boundaries to answer questions that solve real problems. Currently he is a lecturer in Business and Climate Change and his research focuses on energy policy and energy supply security.
In parallel to NBS, Dr Chalvatzis has visiting appointments at the Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of TEI Piraues in Athens.
Before UEA Dr Chalvatzis completed studies in software engineering, energy engineering, negotiations and environmental policy. Throughout his previous career he combined academic and industrial engagement. In academia this involved teaching and research on environmental and energy business subjects in institutions in Greece and Egypt. In the industry he gained experience as project manager and negotiations manager in the energy sectors of the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Northern Africa.
