Dr Eleni-Revekka Staiou,

Eleni-Revekka Staiou graduated, in 2007, from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Communication and Media Studies and, in 2008, she completed her postgraduate studies in London, UK in London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), obtaining an MSc in Communication, Information, and Society. In February 2017 she received her Ph.D. at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Communication and Mass Media with focus on the Greek solidarity initiatives and their communication via social media. She is a researcher of the Laboratory of New Technologies in Communication, Education and the Mass Media and her research interests are about eParticipation, Social and Solidarity Economy and Web 2.0, with emphasis on social networks and their potential use by individuals, groups and organizations. Also, her focus is on Non-Profit organizations’ communication, especially using social media. She is currently working on the Organosi 2.0 (Organizing 2.0) project, a platform for self-organized social solidarity (SoSS) initiatives in Greece.
