Deniz Demir is a research assistant in the department of Media Economics and Management at Marmara University, Istanbul. She’s a Ph.D. candidate on media economics at Marmara University. Her research area is mainly focused on the economics of alternative media.
She received an M.A. degree from Galatasaray University on political sciences and a B.A. degree from Galatasaray University on communication sciences. As part of her doctoral studies she had been at University of Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle for one semester. Her academic interests include political economy of media, alternative media and media ownership.
